Finally - a break!

The heat FINALLY broke last night! We woke up to a cool 73 degrees in the house and 60 something outside which makes me absolutely estatic! In honor of this delicious weather, we're grilling steaks on the much under-used grill tonight....mmm!

It's been scorching hot - we've done absolutely everything we can think of to keep cool (without spending a ton of money) -- running in the sprinklers, getting ice cream, laying very still as our portable ac in the bedroom chugs away even though it could only keep the room at 85 at the hottest part of the day. We kept most of the doors and windows shut because the wind that was blowing was making things even hotter...our highest reading at home was 115 but that was in direct sunlight. We did break the all time highest record in Seattle - formerly 101, now it's a ghastly 103!

Saturday, we have tickets to the Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum and Montgomery Gentry concert at Qwest field whoohoo! Hopefully, Sugarland (who is the main reason I'm going) will actually perform. The lead singer, Jennifer Nettles was put on vocale rest earlier this summer and has missed several concerts so far. She's scheduled to perform, but we'll see. Sunday, we're supposed to clean out the garage a bit so we can move our arm chair in. We're trying to open up our living room a little bit. Our sofa is a sectional and it's huge. We're going to attempt to take it apart and rearrange a bit...if we don't kill each other in the process (neither of us are known for our patience, lol).

We actually have a really busy August coming up. The Kenny Chesney concert on Aug 1, Mariner's game on Aug 10 (free tickets from my work :-)), Renaissance Faire with Erika on Aug 15, my very first camping trip on Aug 22, and finally the much anticipated Nickelback (with Hinder, Papa Roach and Saving Abel) at the Gorge Amp - my first time going there too-- on Aug 29.
